B. Howard supports the kids at the Children’s Dream Awards in Los Angeles, California
Hollywood’s youngest stars team up to award our nation’s youngest Unsung Heroes.
Los Angeles, CA (February 7, 2011)- Celebrities Ashley Argota, Bailee Madison, Bella Thorne, BooBoo Stewart, Bryce Cass, Devendra Banhart, Gregg Sulkin, Haley Hasselhoff, Jayson Blair, Jimmy Bennett, Joshua Moore, Meagan Good, Noah Munck, Nolan Gould, Peyton List, Ryan Eggold, Ryan Ochoa, Spencer List, Stefanie Scott and Tia Mowry are the first to come on board to participate in this years Children’s Dream Awards Ceremony. Also participating by performing at the event are Abraham McDonald, Arianna Grande from Disney’s hit show “Victorious”, B. Howard, The Beat Freaks dance squad, Destiny, Haunted by Heroes, Melky Jean of Melkey Sedek, NiRe Alldai, YouTube sensation Savannah Outen, Statik Express, and the Wondergirls.
On February 23rd, 2011 Children Uniting Nations presents the Children’s Dream Awards at Club Nokia Center in the L.A. Live Complex. The red carpet arrivals will begin at 4:00 p.m., the dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., and the awards and performances will follow at 7:00 p.m.
The Children’s Dream Awards Gala Celebration and Dinner features the presentation of awards to young celebrities based on their personal and professional achievements, charity work and role modeling. Awards will not only be given to children with talent in movies, television and music, but there will also be Angel Awards given to the children serving as role models who exemplify the spirit of giving to communities worldwide.
There are seven recipients of this year’s Dream Awards.
Jackie McMahon created a scholastic organization that promotes positive social interaction among students and special needs children.
Jacob & Isaac Seigel help educate the public, through film, on the power of bicycle ownership and help raise funds to buy bicycles for health workers, farmers and students around the world.
Matthew Cohen launched a website www.powerfromthesun.us devoted to bringing solar ovens to Haiti.
At age ten, Miranda Andersen traveled to Hawaii to meet a scientist who was working on preserving coral and made a film about the scientists project called “Help Mary Save Coral”.
Mohamed Sidibay was forced to become a child soldier in Sierra Leone, fighting for nearly five years. The documentary “Peace Maker Hero” focuses on Mohamed’s life and his transition from Sierra Leone to the United States and how Mohamed is using media and technology to change the world.
Slater Jewell Kemker’s film, “An Inconvenient Youth” is a documentary that gives kids a voice on the frontline of climate change.
Children Uniting Nations is a proactive non-profit organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. Their goal is to reach as many out-of-home youth by offering role-model support, guidance, a sense of community and promoting the importance of education.
Founded in 1999 by Daphna Ziman, Children Uniting Nations is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk and foster youth through national advocacy and community-based and school-based mentoring.
